The Australian Cricket Community extends support to Asha

On 10 November 2016, the Australian Friends of Asha were hosted for a Diwali dinner in the Olympic Room, at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. The renowned historian, biographer and cricket writer, Ramachandra Guha entertained a crowd of cricket lovers and Asha supporters with his address “Five Forms of Cricketing Partisanship”.

The Australian Cricket Board kindly donated a cricket bat signed by the Australian cricket team. All funds raised from auctioning this bat went to support the work of Asha. Guests included AFOA Founding Patron the Hon Alex Chernov AC QC and Mrs Elizabeth Chernov, AFOA Chair Robert Johanson and AFOA directors Harish Rao, Caroline Chernov and Richard Leder along with Asha student Mahinder Shrivas.

A big thank you to the Australian community for all their support!
