Asha ambassador Santosh from Zakhira slum narrates his volunteering experience as an Asha corona warrior during the lockdown. Santosh recounts how horrible the situation had become in his slum as children and women fell into malnutrition and sick patients had no access to hospitals. As a part of the Asha corona warrior team in Zakhira, Santosh visited each slum home and provided slum families with financial aid and groceries along with spreading awareness about COVID-19.
Santosh believes that the Asha feeding programs being conducted across Asha centres to improve malnutrition will surely benefit thousands of slum dwellers who still need our continuous help.
