Asha team and Asha warriors work tirelessly to get every slum dweller vaccinated

When a vaccination drive began in CR das school located in Seelampur, North East Delhi, our Asha team member Shiv went there to speak to the person in charge of running the vaccination centre. Shiv met with him in person and explained the work that Asha does in the slums, he spoke about our Asha warriors who are working tirelessly every day to spread awareness with their slum communities.

Shiv requested the person in charge to allow our group of 14 slum dwellers to receive their vaccination on that day. However, his request was denied, he was informed that there is a very high shortage of vaccines at the moment. However, Shiv did not give up.

The Asha team in Seelampur had already formed a good relationship with the councillor of Seelampur, Mr Haji Afzal, through Asha’s work done in the first and second covid wave. Shiv went to meet him immediately and informed him of the situation. Mr Haji Afzal informed his team about the shortage of vaccines and asked that more vaccines be sent urgently.

Mr Haji Afzal also made sure to visit the vaccination centre along with Shiv and Asha warriors. He was present there till the last member of our group received their vaccination. Shiv and his team were successful in getting everyone vaccinated in 1 day!

This recent story highlights the dedication and bravery of the Asha team and Asha warriors who are working tirelessly in the slums to get every slum dweller vaccinated. Asha is making sure that each and every slum dweller receive their vaccination immediately.
