Asha’s Winter Relief: Comfort for Lal Bagh Communities

With temperatures dropping into single digits at night and cold winds blowing through the day, winter has become especially harsh for families living in Delhi’s slum communities.

In places like Lal Bagh, homes made of thin sheets and temporary materials offer little shelter. The cold settles in after sunset and clings through the daylight hours, making daily life and rest painfully difficult.

Small children are among the most affected. Many step out in the early morning wearing only light clothes, their bodies unable to hold warmth against the biting air.

Elderly people struggle through long, cold nights, often sleeping on the floor with little or no bedding. For families focused on daily survival, warm clothes and blankets are simply not affordable.

In response, Asha distributed warm blankets along with winter clothing to families in Lal Bagh. These blankets brought immediate relief. They offered warmth through the night, comfort to tired bodies, and protection from illness. For parents, a blanket wrapped around their child meant safety. For the elderly, it meant rest and dignity during the coldest hours.

This effort was made possible by the generosity of supporters who chose to stand with these families in their time of need. Your kindness turned into warmth that could be felt and held. Thank you for helping ensure that no child, no elderly person, and no family is left to face the winter alone.
