Bendigo and Adelaide Bank celebrate Diwali to support Asha

On Friday 28th October Bendigo and Adelaide Bank celebrated the Diwali festival across its Adelaide and Bendigo head offices.

This is the third year the Bank has celebrated the event and again was raising money for the Asha Foundation. A total of $1,599 was raised from the two events as a result of raffle tickets sales, Casual for a Cause donations and drink sales at the events.

In Bendigo we saw our own staff take part in a dance routine which they had spent the weeks leading up to the event rehearsing, catering supplied from “The Curry Garden” and Bollywood dance and drumming performances from “Limitless Innovations”.

Adelaide had a very special performance by 8 year old Varsha who performed “Vara Leela” while the traditional candle lighting ceremony occurred. We had dance performances by Francesca and her team, some amazing food from “The Indian Brasserie” and our very own guest bar tenders Stella Thredgold and Scott Ross who worked tirelessly all night.

Both events showcased the Bank’s diversity and inclusiveness with Adelaide further integrating the German festival - Oktoberfest into their event.

The night was a huge success in both locations, with staff excited to be involved in such a great cause. We are excited to continue to hold this event, and with each event we continue to learn more and grow, and we look forward to putting on another great event next year.
