Bridging the Digital Divide: Asha’s Associate Director Freddy Martin Inaugurates IT Lab at Peeragarhi Slum Community

This past Thursday, we celebrated the inauguration of another IT Centre at the PeeraGarhi slum community. The centre looked festive and beautiful, with plants and marigold flowers adorning the hall. The event had a wonderful Irish flavour with many friends and supporters joining from Ireland. Rev Gareth Harron, the minister at Holywood Parish, was our Chief Guest. He spoke beautifully, explaining the benefits and pitfalls of IT.
Nancy, a final-year university student from Peera Garhi, shared how hard it was for students to go to expensive cybercafes. Asha's Associate Director, Freddy Martin, Senior Programme Manager, Ayesha and Team Leader, Shiny have worked incredibly hard to make this centre a reality. Thanks to everyone from Northern Ireland for sharing in this celebration from afar. Thank you @ Rev Gareth Harron @Hazel & Noel @Baney @David Finch @Louanne Hempton @Victoria Thampi @ Jayne Foster and everyone else present for encouraging our team and community members.
