Internationally Acclaimed Artist holds workshop for Asha students

On 11th October, Internationally acclaimed Australian aboriginal artist, Elisa Jane Carmichael visited Asha to organise a workshop with members of Asha's children's association in Dr Ambedkar slum colony. Organised to celebrate International Day of the Girl Child, the workshop comprised nearly 30 school going girls from the slum community.

As Elisa taught them the nuances of painting, the Asha girls in return painted her hands with henna for which Elisa was extremely excited and grateful. This was followed by the Australian Ambassador for Women and Girls, Ms Natasha Stott Despoja visiting the community. Ms Despoja loved the work of the children and appreciated Elisa’s efforts of promoting art amongst the community.

It was a morning filled with great joy and vibrant hues and the children had and enjoyable time learning to paint. Asha would like to thank Ms Elisa Jane Carmichael for spending time with the community.
