Dr Kiran informed the new supporters and long-standing donors on the history of Asha and acknowledged the remarkable transition made by Chandan progressing from a childhood in a slum of Delhi to a postgraduate student in Australia. Chandan’s support by Dr Martin and Asha has seen him realise his potential and win the Future Research Talent Award 2019 to study at the Australian National University.

Dr Kiran thanked the generous sponsors of the event, Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Rathbone Wine Group and presented Richard Leder, partner Corrs and Australian Friends of Asha board member, with a yearbook which lists the 2,600 Asha students who have completed school and progressed to higher education with Asha’s support.

Chandan shared photos and a heart-warming journey on his educational path that led to him being recently awarded a Chevening scholarship to study in the UK. A truly remarkable achievement made possible through the power of philanthropy.A
