Dr Kiran- ”Hello folks, the women from the River Bed Slum Community were anxiously waiting for Asha’s vehicle and team to arrive with desperately needed groceries. Today was the second round for every family. The cycle rickshaws are seen in the picture; there has been no work for 67 days. Some people work as labourers in the field nearby, but there has been no farming activity since the lockdown began. Many women looked skinny and anemic. I am trying to get the Asha bus on the road so that we can take care of this community on a regular basis. The CNG gas stations have not opened yet, and the Road Transport Authority is not functional.
The arrival of the Asha team and vehicle fills them with hope and comfort.”
