”There are indications that the lockdown that was until April 14th, will be extended until the end of the month. This has created more fear and anxiety in slum communities. The Asha Corona Warriors are constantly reassuring them and comforting them that they will be there for them until the end. They spend hours and hours every day reaching out to thousands of people. The food subsidy ( ration) that the government has pledged to provide is filled with complex problems at the delivery level. The online system for registration mostly doesn’t work, in spite of the Warriors trying hard to register the families. Asha continues to distribute cash and food to needy families whose numbers go up rapidly each day.”- Dr Kiran
