Friends of Asha’s Successful Fundraiser Event in Sacramento

*Hello from Sacramento! The Sacramento chapter of Friends of Asha organized a wonderful fundraiser for Asha yesterday evening. It was a full of people, most of whom I had met before and was seeing after 5 years. What a joyful reunion. The event was organized by Nalini and Manmohan both of whom are board members of Friends of Asha USA. They were supported by an organizing committee that worked so very hard to help make the event a success.

It began with delicious Indian appetizers that the guests enjoyed. I spoke about the work of Asha with great joy and excitement. Fazia, one of Asha’s students, joined us live from Seelampur and told her moving story. This was followed by some Indian music sung by talented singers. Everyone celebrated and danced with joy after which there was a sumptuous dinner. It was amazing that everything from the appetizers to the drinks to the food as well as the music was donated pro bono, so all the resources raised could go to the work of Asha. Thank you for putting on a marvelous event and allowing me the opportunity to reconnect with Asha friends of many years. We are grateful from our hearts for all your hard work.

*In the words of Dr Kiran
