On 4th September 2014, Asha’s Founder and Director, Dr Kiran Martin was invited to visit Bendigo Health and Bendigo Bank during her ongoing trip to Australia.
Dr Kiran was warmly welcomed at Bendigo Bank by its Chairman Mr Robert Johanson. While at the bank, she also gave a seminar to the bank staff emphasising on the work of Asha and the values that inspire her. This was followed by a visit to the hospital where she was shown around the hospital facility.
Earlier this year, both organisations, Bendigo Health and Bendigo Bank, organised ‘Bendigo HealthBank Cricket Challenge’ in order to raise funds for Asha. They also presented her with a cheque from proceeds of the event.
Following this, they hosted a lunch reception to honour Dr Kiran and her ground breaking work in the slums of Delhi. Bendigo Mayor, Cr. Barry Lyons, along with some of the Councillors from the city was also present at the event.
